Wonderful News!

This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Tonight the world was informed that Osama Bin Laden had been captured and killed.

He was the leader of attacks on US soil.

He was the reason so many people died on 9/11.

He was the reason that we have had troops overseas for the last 9 years.

He was the reason that so many troops have lost their lives, fighting for MY safety and freedom.

I, like many others, want justice to be served and I believe that justice has been served by the capture and death of him. No, the USA cannot rest immediately, nor should we ever let our guard down, but wow...what amazing news we have received!

So on this rainy and dreary day here in Oklahoma, where we remembered our own victims who died in the April 19, 1995 terrorist attack by hosting a Memorial Marathon, we remember the destruction of 9/11 and the victims of those terrorist attacks.

We remember the troops who have lost their lives fighting overseas and those who have been constantly searching for Osama Bin Laden.

We praise our Heavenly Father, for He knew long before we ever did that good news would be brought to the world today.

People say that bad things sometimes need to happen for the world to turn to God; for Him to show His faithfulness to us. But did you ever think he provides good things, such as this instance, for the world to praise Him and thank Him for this blessing He has given us?

All I can think of is the Doxology song that we sometimes sing in church:

Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him all creatures here below,
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts,
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Amen.

Thank you, Jesus, for this wonderful blessing and gift you have bestowed upon us. May we not take this for granted and may You be given all the honor, praise and glory.
