So...it seems like I've been doing a lot of waiting lately. A LOT. Not just for a husband, but in the simple things. Think about it. We wait for our food at a restaurant. We wait at the stop light or stop sign. We wait for someone to call. We wait for an e-mail. We wait.
I know I've mentioned this before on my blog somewhere, but many days I wake up with a song in my heart. I always know God sends these songs to me at the right times, right when I need them. Some songs are very recent. Some songs are very old. And some songs, I haven't heard in a really long time.
This morning's song was one I hadn't heard in a really long time. In fact, my friend Tammy told me about this song YEARS ago. She probably doesn't even remember telling me about it. But, it was such an encouragement to me back then...and it was an encouragement today. I always find it amazing that God allows me to remember the words to a song, even though I haven't heard it in a while.
So as I wait in my life, especially for that husband of mine, I will remember this song and that the Lord's will for my life is the best waiting there is.
In the Waiting
by Greg Long
Pain
The gift nobody longs for, still it comes
And somehow leaves us stronger
When it's gone away
Pray
I try and pray for Your will to be done
But I confess it's never fast enough for me
It seems
The hardest part is waiting on You
When what I really want
Is just to see Your hand move
I want a peace beyond my understanding
I want to feel it fall like rain
In the middle of my hurting
I want to feel Your arms as they surround me
And let me know that it's okay
To be here in this place
Resting in the peace that only comes
In the Waiting
Time
Time to let it go and just believe
Trusting in what no one else but You can see
Free
Freedom from the fears that close me in
When I can't get beyond where I have been, but then
Again
The silence doesn't meant that I'm alone
As long as I can hear
That I'm still Your own
I want a peace beyond my understanding
I want to feel it fall like rain
In the middle of my hurting
I want to feel Your arms as they surround me
And let me know that it's okay
To be here in this place
Resting in the peace that only comes
In the Waiting
(This is a beautiful song and I would love for you to listen to it. Google it and maybe you'll find it on the web somewhere so you can hear it. Also, I cannot get the spacing to work on the lyrics like I want it to and it's very irritating. I tried!)
